Orange Award for New Writers
The Orange Award for New Writers will be awarded for the first time in 2005 to coincide with the Orange Prize for Fiction's 10th birthday celebrations. The winner will receive £10,000 to help her pursue her work with greater freedom.

People in Japan are now using mobile phones to read e-books, including novels. Wired Magazine reports that classics, sex manuals and dictionaries are popular reads.

The Disability Experts database holds details of over 200 disability trainers, auditors and consultants with experience or an interest in working with museums, archives and libraries.

LIS News reports that increasing numbers of school and public libraries in Maine are devoting shelf space to Japanese comic books, which have become hugely popular among adolescents. Moral outrage is just around the corner...but the most interesting comments (and the article has so far provoked 192!) are those from the readers themselves.
