Benjamin Zephaniah will present the 2005 Libraries Change Lives Award at this year's Library + information Show on Wed 20 April 2005 at The Pavilion, NEC, Birmingham. Benjamin Zephaniah will give a short reading of his poetry.

Children's writers become library favourites
The Guardian reports that children's writers now hold two of the first five places in the official league of authors most borrowed from British public libraries, new figures disclose today.

"...these days our culture of ownership, combined with steep falls in the price of books, have meant that, for many people, libraries have become an irrelevance."

"...the singular focus of this page is sources of information about librarianship - even though librarians are in need of more current awareness from beyond the profession."
Stephen Bell is Director of the Paul J. Gutman Library at Philadelphia University so the site has an american academic library focus, but is well worth a look.
